Australian Open 2017: Juan Martin Del Potro out due to fitness concerns

Argentine’s tennis player, Juan Martin Del Potro will miss next season’s Australian Open due to ongoing fitness issues.

The Argentine’s sensation also decided to opt out of his planned warm-up event in New Zealand, organizers of the Auckland Classic confirmed on Saturday.

28- year-old Del Potro made his outstanding comeback in 2016 after a wrist injury which sidelined him for much of the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He achieved a top-10 ranking by the Association of Tennis Professionals. He clinched the Olympic silver medal in the Men’s Singles in Rio.

If we talk about his exceptional comeback, he started 2016 ranked 1042th and finished at 38th. Potro also registered impressive victories over Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray in 2016.

Moreover,Rising Star of WTA Madison Keys have also withdrawn from the singles event in 2017 due to wrist surgery.
