Boyd Holbrook is in Talks to Replace Benicio Toro in Fox’s ‘Predator’ Reboot

Earlier there were talks to cast Academy winner Benicio Del Toro in the new movie The Predator. But according to the some sources, Now Narcos Star Boyd Holbrook is in the negotiations to replace Benico, who fell out due to scheduling issues.

Shane Black is aboard to direct the film and pen it with his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker. Black appeared in the 1987 original alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as radioman Rick Hawkins, who is the first to be offed by that terrifying thing in the jungle. John Davis, Joel Silver, and Lawrence Gordon — who produced the original — are producing with hopes to begin shooting next year.

Plot details hasn’t released yet. The original was directed by John McTiernan and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, and Jesse Ventura as commandos attempting to rescue hostages while being stalked in a jungle in Central America by a fearsome extra-terrestrial, played by Kevin Peter Hall.

Holbrook is also starring in the studio’s upcoming Fox X-Men movie, Logan.
